Former Australian Test bowler Damien Fleming has said that Test selectors should consider Clint McKay for a place in the side after his hat-trick heroics against England on the weekend.
According to The Courier Mail, Fleming pointed out that McKay had a great stock ball, and since he was tall, he had good bounce and moved the ball a fair bit, adding that he also had great variety, which he did not have at the start of his career.
Fleming believes the quality of the incumbents is what has kept McKay out of the Test setup in recent years, rather than any major failings in his own bowling, the report said.
Meanwhile, McKay said that his hat trick in the fourth ODI against England would have been much sweeter had Australia clinched victory in the match, the report added.
