David Cameron leads tributes to Sir David Frost who died aged 74

UK's Prime Minister David Cameron paid tributes to iconic TV personality Sir David Frost, who died at the age of 74 following a heart attack, asserting that Frost was an "extraordinary man".

Cameron praised the journalist, saying that he was a man with charm, wit, talent, intelligence and warmth in equal measure, the Mirror reported.

He insisted that Frost had made a huge impact on television, politics and especially with his interview with erstwhile US president Richard Nixon, which was among the great broadcast moments.

Cameron, 46, said that the famous broadcaster was a good friend and a fearsome interviewer.

Tony Blair, former UK Prime Minister, said that he was saddened by Frost's death, adding, that he was a thoroughly kind and good natured man.

British actor John Cleese, whose career was launched on 'The Frost Report', said that he was extremely sad when he heard of Frost's death.

The 'Pink Panther 2' star asserted that he had known Frost for 52 years and he was extraordinarily fond of him.

Cleese added that he owes a great deal of his professional career to Frost and he is very grateful for what Frost did for him.

According to a family statement, Frost was aboard the Queen Elizabeth ship when he suffered the fatal heart attack.
