Expressing his delight over the invitaion received from the PMO, legendary freedom fighter Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose's nephew Ardhendu Bose on Sunday expressed hope that Prime Minister Narendra Modi would now initiate some action with regard to the declassification of Netaji's files.
"We are extremely happy that the Prime Minister has agreed to meet us. We have been requesting the PMO to seriously look into the matter of declassification of files on Subhash Bose. It's obvious that the Prime Minister will now take some action hopefully," Ardhendu Bose told ANI.
"There are many files lying in Russia...England, may be in United States, Japan and China, which are of great significance. This will encourage the Indian Government to request the governments of these nations to declassify the files on Bose," he added.
Prime Minister Modi today said he was glad that the family members of Subhash Chandra Bose would meet him at his official 7, Race Course Road (RCR) residence here in October.
Earlier, the family members of Subhash Chandra Bose had sought an appointment with the Prime Minister to discuss the issue of declassification of files related to the late freedom fighter.
