A 19-year-old Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) student from Ranchi attempted to commit suicide in wee hours of Wednesday morning by jumping from his hostel premises.
Abhinandan, roommate of first year student Nitish Kumar Purthi, claimed that he committed suicide out of depression.
Purthi has suffered fracture in his legs.
He is currently admitted in AIIMS trauma center and is undergoing treatment.
