A man along with his family on Tuesday attempted to commit suicide before Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) North office, after officers at Sarai Rohilla Police Station allegedly turned down his request to register a First Information Report (FIR).
The man had approached Sarai Rohilla Police Station to lodge an FIR. However, police refused to register the FIR, following which he reached the DCP North office to commit suicide, but was prevented from doing so by the office staff.
The FIR was lodged soon after the incident.
Meanwhile, an inquiry has been instigated to probe the reason, as to why Sarai Rohilla failed to register the FIR.
