Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Thursday announced a compensation of Rs one crore for the family of Narottam Das, the CRPF jawan who lost his life in a Naxal attack in Bihar.

"Although we cannot compensate the loss, but Delhi Government will help his family monetarily. The Delhi Government will provide a compensation of Rs one crore to the family of Narottam Das. He has sacrificed his life for the nation. We are proud of him. He laid down his life to safeguard ours. We stand with his family in this difficult hour," Kejriwal told ANI.

"There is also a provision of transferring Das's job to his wife. She can either take up that or we can provide her with a job in the Delhi Government. We will also take proper care of his children's studies," he added.

Maoists blew up a vehicle yesterday carrying Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel in Gaya district of Bihar, killing two and injuring 10 others. They also reportedly also fired at the personnel after the blast.

Commandos of Commando Battalion for Resolute Action (COBRA), a CRPF unit trained to tackle Maoist issue, were returning to their base after conducting a search operation.
