The Delhi High Court on Wednesday decided to reserve its order on the plea filed by disqualified Madhya Pradesh minister Narottam Mishra seeking to vote in the Presidential elections.

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader was barred from contesting elections for three years by the Election Commission on June 23 after he was implicated for paid news allegations.

A bench headed by Justice Indermeet Kaur, after hearing submissions, reserved the judgement.

The plea, filed by Mishra, was transferred to the Delhi High Court by the Supreme Court challenging the Election Commission's decision to disqualify him for three years for filing wrong account of his poll expenditure in 2008 Assembly election.

The case was initially being heard at the Madhya Pradesh High Court, but was later transferred to the apex court as one of the petitioners in the case filed a Special Leave Petition (SLP) with the Supreme Court on the issue on Friday.

Mishra's membership was suspended after Congress leader Rajendra Bharti had in 2008 complained to EC, accusing the former of getting paid news published during election campaign.

Bharti had lost the elction to Mishra from Madhya Pradesh's Datia constituency.
