The Delhi high court on Tuesday directed the Palaniswami-O Panneerselvam faction of the ruling AIADMK to file a reply in the two leaves symbol case by February 8.

The notice was issued while the court was hearing a plea filed by the sidelined AIADMK leader, T.T.V. Dhinakaran, who has challenged the Election Commission of India's (ECI) decision to grant the symbol to the AIADMK's ruling faction -- Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Edappadi K. Palaniswami and Deputy CM O. Panneerselvam.

Earlier on January 12, Narendra Kumar Jain, a close aide of Dhinakaran, was granted bail in the case of bribing the ECI to procure the symbol.
