The Election Commission on Thursday announced that it will monitor all press conferences given by political parties in the national capital to check for possible violations of the Model Code of Conduct ahead of the February 7 assembly elections in the city.

The Congress and the Bharatiya Janata Party have filed numerous complaints against Aam Aadmi Party chief Arvind Kejriwal after the latter had allegedly accused his rivals of being corrupt.

The elections for the 70-member Delhi Assembly will be held in a single phase on February 7, with the counting of votes set to take place on February 10.
