The Congress party on Thursday said it would prove opinion surveys wrong by winning the Delhi Assembly polls and forming the government once again in the national capital.
"All the surveys are wrong. In the last elections, not a single survey said that Kejriwal would win and form the government. If the last survey can be wrong, then why not this year? This year, Congress will form the government", Congress' chief ministerial candidate Ajay Maken told ANI.
"After every five years, people voted for us. There was time that they did not vote for us, then they did not but again they realized that we were right and they again voted for us, it will be repeated," he added.
President Pranab Mukherjee's daughter and Congress leader Sharmistha Mukherjee, who is contesting the polls from the Greater Kailash constituency, also sounded positive about her electoral prospects.
"I haven't conducted surveys but my experience says that I am winning from here," Sharmistha told ANI.
With just a few hours left for the campaigning to end for the high-voltage Delhi Assembly polls, several surveys have given a slight edge to the Arvind Kejriwal- led AAP and placed the BJP at the second spot.
The elections for the 70-member Delhi Assembly will be held in a single phase on February 7. The counting of votes will take place on February 10.
