British tennis ace Andy Murray remained on top of the latest ATP rankings released on Monday, despite losing the Qatar Open against Novak Djovokic, who is at the second spot.
Djokovic defeated Murray in a three-set thriller final on Saturday in Doha, thus bringing the Briton's 28-match winning streak to an end. He beat the Briton 6-3, 5-7, 6-4 in a high-quality, action-packed match that lasted for almost three hours.
Canada' Milos Raonic is at the third spot in the rankings, followed by Stan Wawrinka and Kei Nishikori. France's Gael Monfils, without even playing, jumped one place to equalise his best ever rank, reports Sport24.
Croat Marian Cilic's second-round defeat in the Chennai Open benefitted Monfils, who is now at the sixth spot.
Recent tournament winners, Roberto Bautista of Spain and Bulgarian Grigor Dimitrov, both have surged in the rankings to 13th and 15th place respectively.
