Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis chaired a meeting with officials from Coal Ministry instructing to restore coal supply and to also use roads for coal transportation at the earliest.
This meeting comes after several parts of Maharashtra are facing load-shedding as thermal power plants have run short of coal.
A statement, released by the Chief Minister's office, read, "Devendra Fadnavis instructed to restore coal supply and use even roads for coal transportation to bring relief to people as soon as possible. The Chief Minister specifically asked to bring back the situation to normal within seven days".
During the meeting, Fadnavis met officials from the Coal Ministry, Coal India Ltd, Railways, various coal companies and Maharashtra Energy Department.
