Former Manchester United striker Diego Forlan has reportedly revealed that he tried to convince fellow countryman Luis Suarez to join the club over Liverpool.
Forlan said that when Liverpool made Suarez an offer to move to Anfield, he told him that he should move to Old Trafford instead.
However, Forlan said that he also spoke well of Liverpool and their history to Suarez, the Daily Star reported.
The Uruguayan national said that Suarez and he get on well adding that he likes how the Liverpool striker feels that he can turn to him in good and bad moments.
Forlan said that Suarez is polite and keen to learn, adding that he always asking him questions and advice.
Forlan also said that Suarez loves playing at Liverpool, as he likes the Premier League and the fans love him because he is a 'striker's striker', the report added.
