Tillakaratne Dilshan scored a brilliant half-century as Sri Lanka claimed a one-wicket Duckworth-Lewis win over West Indies in the rain-interrupted opening ODI of the three-match series here on Sunday.

Opting to bat first, West Indies scored 159 for the loss of eight wickets in their 26 overs, thanks to Andre Russell's 41 off 24 balls knock and Jason Holder's 36 off 13 ball innings.

For the hosts, Suranga Lakmal bagged three wickets while Shehan Jayasuriya, Ajantha Mendis and Angelo Mathews shared four wickets among themselves.

Replying to the target, Dilshan smashed 59 runs off 32 balls, including six boundaries and three sixes, to help his side score 164 runs in their allotted 26 overs.

Meanwhile, debutants Danushka Gunathilaka and Jayasuriya got dismissed cheaply for 12 runs and a duck respectively.

Sri Lanka had earlier clinched the two-match Test series by 2-0 against West Indies. The two sides will now play their second and third ODI on November 4 and November 7 respectively.
