New Delhi, Mar. 29 (ANI): Bollywood actor Shreyas Talpade, who will be soon seen in a psychological thriller directed by Mukesh Jadhav, said that trying a different genre apart from comedy is refreshing.

During an interview with ANI, the 40-year-old actor said, "I have done quite a few comedy films, so people, wherever I go, they know me essentially for two-three major films, one of them being 'Iqubal' and then, 'Golmal Returns,' 'Om Shanti Om,' 'Welcome to Sajjanpur.' For me, as an actor, it is also refreshing when you get to play something else."

"When you wake up in the morning and you get to know its only comedy you tend to get bored. If you know there's going to be something else you get excited and charged. Having said that, yes it is comedy comes to me more naturally, but when it is a different genre something like a suspense thriller, you got to be extremely careful about every little move you do because every move has some repercussions happening later, so you got to be careful," Shreyas was quoted as saying.

Further, talking about the murder mystery that also stars Rahul Dev and Makarand Deshpande in the lead roles, the actor said that working in this flick is like going back to college and revising and he thinks every actor needs to do that time to time, one needs to go back to basics.

When asked if taking up different genre will give him more windows of opportunity, the 'Om Shanti Om' star said, "100 per cent without a doubt trying different genres will improve me as an actor. You tend to showcase the different aspects about you every time you get to do a film like this. Different genres will only challenge you and push you to perform better and perform in different manner than what you have done earlier."

He added, "Even in terms of comedy, if you have done a particular character in a comedy film, you won't want to repeat it, you would want to try out something else. If you do the same thing over and over again the audience will even get bored of it."

Apart from the psychological thriller, Shreyas will be seen in a film titled 'Vahh Taj' and will be also working on the sequel to his Marathi film 'Poster Boys.
