South Africa coach Russell Domingo admitted that the loss of all-rounder JP Duminy is a big blow for his side, but added that any of the players in the squad are capable of doing the job for the team in their World T20 clash against West Indies at Vidarbha Cricket Stadium in Nagpur on Friday.
JP Duminy, who smacked unbeaten scores of 54 and 29 in his last two games, was ruled out of his side's third group game against the Carribean side after failing to recover substantially from a hamstring strain sustained during Sunday's victory over Afghanistan while chasing a ball to the boundary.
However, Duminy has not been ruled of his side's final group game against defending champions Sri Lanka in Bengaluru on Monday. He will be monitored over the next days.
Reflecting on his dismissal, Domingo said he was in a good form and was one of the main batters for the side, insisting that his omission would upset the balance of the team.
The coach added that the replacement of two-in-one player like Duminy would be 'tricky', but was confident that his well-equipped squad could overcome the setback with the available players, Sport24 reported.
South Africa, which suffered a two-wicket defeat against England in their campaign opener, gained two points after thrashing Afghanistan by 37 runs in the second group-match.
Faf du Plessis' side are standing second in Group A, with West Indies leading the table after claiming victories in the both the matches.
