'Don't fear criticism', advises 'hot' actress-turned-businesswoman Jessica Alba

Jessica Alba was a box-office's bikini bombshell who went on to build a billion-dollar business, The Honest Company, the actress recently opened up about her journey going from the big screen to the cover of Forbes magazine.

The 34-year-old said that people just saw her as this girl in a bikini in movies kicking butt, who might not be the brightest bulb, so it took three and a half years of condescending nods and just pats on the back with people telling her "no", E! Online reported.

It took the mother of two three years to find the right team, and in 2011, she launched the Honest Company with Brian Leo, Sean Kane and Christopher Gavigan. Per Forbes, the household products startup went from 10 million in revenues in 2012 to estimated 1 billion dollars in 2015, which according to Alba is a "small number" for the opportunity of what's possible.

The 'Dark Angel' star further added that women in business should not fear criticism and they should always ask for help when needed, as it is ok to be not knowing but learning.
