United States President Donald Trump on Sunday accepted that his eldest son Donald Trump Jr's meeting of 2016 with Kremlin associated lawyers, was to get information on Hilary Clinton.
Defending his son, the United States President termed the controversial meeting "totally legal and done all the time in politics."
Trump, in a series of Tweet, lashed out at the media outlets and Robert Mueller's ongoing investigation into the possible links of Russia in US presidential election.
"Fake News reporting, a complete fabrication, that I am concerned about the meeting my wonderful son, Donald, had in Trump Tower," Trump tweeted.
"This was a meeting to get information on an opponent, totally legal and done all the time in politics - and it went nowhere. I did not know about it!" he added.
Last year in July, Trump had said that they primarily discussed a program about the adoption of Russian children. However, the statements surrounding the meeting have been changed several times.
The United States President's eldest son Donald Trump Jr, his son-in-law Jared Kushner and his then-campaign manager Paul Manafort met Kremlin-linked lawyer on June 9, 2016, in Trump Tower.
