Palm Jumeirah, the World Islands, Burj Khalifa and Dubai Festival city will be putting up a combined show of fireworks tonight.
The staggering display of fireworks will include a world record attempt that will see 400,000 shots fired in the sky from 400 locations on the Palm island and the islands of The World, Gulf News reported.
The show, designed by US-based 'Fireworks by Grucci', to celebrate a landmark year for the country that included winning the hosting rights for the World Expo 2020, will begin with a "Flying Falcon" doing rounds of The World islands, leading the countdown for the New Year spectacle.
Spectators will witness a 225-metre wide and 130-metre high UAE flag, conjured through fireworks and special effects that will adorn the Dubai sky.
