An Election Commission (EC) team on Saturday seized Rs 27 lakh cash from a car here.
The State Surveillance Team appointed by the Election Commission of India confiscated the cash from the car during a routine checking on Dehradun-Rishikesh highway.
The cash was handed over to the Income Tax (IT) Department to ascertain the source of money. Further investigation in this regard is underway.
