The England women's cricket team defeated their Australian counterparts, the Southern Stars, with a 51-run victory in the second one-day international match at Hove, leveling the women's Ashes series 1-1.
According to News.com.au, with England setting a score of 257 on a batter-friendly pitch with a fast outfield, Australia was all out for 205 in the 49th over even though Australian batter Jess Cameron tried hard to deliver consecutive one-day wins with a mature innings of 81 from 108 balls.
Despite Cameron's batting show and left-arm spinner Jess Jonassen bowling of 2-29 off seven overs, the report said that England remained in the ascendant with the help of opening pace bowlers Anya Shrubsole and Katherine Brunt, with Shrubsole taking 1-27 off 10 overs while Brunt ended the match with 2-36 off nine.
The report also said that Lydia Greenway (46 off 65) and captain Charlotte Edwards (53) had earlier steered England to a healthy total of 6-256, after England won the toss and elected to bat.
