A public spat has risen involving two former United States Navy Seals over who fired the shot at al Qaeda's leader Osama Bin Laden who was killed three years ago.
According to the BBC, ex-Navy Seal Robert O'Neill said that he fired the fatal shot at Bin Laden while another former seal Matt Bissonnette involved in the raid contradicts this account in a 2012 book.
O'Neill had previously told his story anonymously and was scheduled to reveal his identity in an interview later this month.
However, a website published O'Neill's name pre-emptively in protest of his decision to go public.
Bissonnette said that he would not comment on what O'Neill had to say and that there were "two different people telling two different stories for two different reasons".
The al Qaeda leader was killed in a Navy Seal raid in 2011on his compound in Abbottabad in Pakistan.
