An expert on Islamic militants has dubbed the Pakistan Taliban attack on a school in Peshawar as a "message to the supporters of Malala Yousafzai" who has been an avid advocate of right to education for women and kids.

Ahmed Rashid said that the attack was an act of revenge for Yousafzai being awarded the 2014 Nobel Peace Prize, reported International Business Times.

Rashid also added that the attack targeted the army-run school to "demoralize the military" as the children of several military officials, engaged in fighting the Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), attended the school.

Terrorists stormed inside the school dressed as Frontier Corps' officers and killed 141 people including, 132 children and 9 staff members of the school. The TTP spokesman Muhammad Khorasani said that the attackers were asked to target the older children but not the younger ones.
