Indian Jesuit priest Father Alexis Prem Kumar, who has returned to India after being abducted in Afghanistan by the Taliban, called on External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj in the national capital.

The priest was accompanied by his family.

Upon his return, Father Alexis had thanked the government for its efforts to secure his release.

The 47-year-old had been kidnapped by gunmen from Herat in June 2014 and was being held as a captive in the war-torn nation. India on Sunday secured his release.
