Federer advances to fourth round of US Open

Second seed Roger Federer swept aside his opponent Philipp Kohlschreiber in straight sets of the third round of US Open at Flushing Meadows.

The 14-time Grand Slam champion overcame his German opponent 6-3, 6-4, 6-4 to set up a fourth round clash with American John Isner.

Meanwhile, French Open champion Stanislas Wawrinka also displayed a remarkable performance as he clinched 6-3, 7-6(7-5), 6-4 win over Belgian opponent Ruben Bemelmans to progress to the fourth round of the tournament.
