FedEx Express has launched today in India, FedEx Delivery Manager, a delivery solution that allows retailers to provide extra flexibility to their customers by allowing them to customize the timing and location of their deliveries at no extra cost.

Logistics is a key enabler for growth of the e-commerce retail sector and is increasingly emerging as a differentiator in terms of customer service and satisfaction. The launch of FedEx Delivery Manager in India is part of a global expansion to 52 countries.

"E-commerce is reshaping the logistics industry in India. The launch of FedEx Delivery Manager demonstrates our efforts to strengthen our last-mile delivery capabilities and provide flexibility and convenience to our customers, whose needs are evolving," said Philip Cheng, vice president Ground Operations for FedEx Express in India.

Recipients expecting deliveries to their residence will receive a notification by email from FedEx when their package is shipped. The customers can choose to change the delivery instructions in a few simple steps via a secured website. This is available for both international and domestic shipments.

The company recognizes the importance of providing efficient and flexible shipping process to small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs) that sell products online. According to a recent IBEF report, the e-commerce market in India is expected to touch USD 64 billion by 2020.
