Feel proud to ask from people rather than looting them: Modi

Taking on Congress President Sonia Gandhi, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi on Wednesday said he felt proud to ask people rather than looting them.

"She has said that Modi is always asking and asking. What does a poor person do other than asking from others? A poor man's son can only ask," said Modi while addressing a rally here today.

"Soniaji, only you might be feeling ashamed of asking from people. I feel proud of this," he added.

He further asked which is a sin, asking or looting, and added that it is acceptable to him to ask from people instead of looting them.

"Nehru once came to Bettiah and made a promise to the people here. It was the duty of the Gandhi family to fulfill that promise, but they did not," he alleged.

Taking a dig at Rahul Gandhi, Modi said a person who rarely went to Amethi earlier, is now on its streets asking for votes, and added that this is the power of the people.

Responding to Priyanka Gandhi's 'neech politics' remark, Modi asked, "Is the CWG scam, Nirbhaya case, Adarsh scam not 'neech' politics?"

"My fight is against these 'neech' deeds and politics. I have come from the state of Mahatma Gandhi, the land of Sardar Patel," he added.
