Former Manchester United manager and coaching icon Sir Alex Ferguson is hopeful that Neymar would be the next one who'll produce the type of talent people see in Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo, but has insisted that the Brazilian still has some way to go.
Ferguson claims there is no-one out there ready to currently challenge Real Madrid's Ronaldo and Barcelona's Messi for the title of the world's best player.
The former United boss believes that Messi and Ronaldo are out there on their own and have no immediate threat to their status as the best on the planet and although Neymar has been touted as a contender to the Argentine and the Portuguese, Ferguson claims that the Brazilian has yet to justify the hype around him, The Mirror reported.
Ferguson said that one would always look at clubs like Bayern Munich, Barca, Real and United to produce that kind of player people talk about, but he added that honestly he is not sure there's one sticking out at the moment.
Ferguson said that the boy Neymar gets a lot of publicity about the potential he's got, but he believes that that's still to be seen, still to be fulfilled.
The coaching great said that certainly, most people he speaks to speak highly of Neymar, adding that when he had Anderson at United, he spoke volumes about the boy's ability.
So, Ferguson added that hopefully Neymar would be the next one who'll produce the type of talent they see in Messi and Ronaldo.
