The first mega food park of North East will be inaugurated at Nathkuchi in Nalbari district of Assam on Thursday.

Union Food Processing Industries Minister Harsimrat Kaur Badal and Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi and Minister of State for Home Affairs Kiren Rijiju are likely to attend the programme.

The mega food park has been designed to prevent wastage of farm produce and ensure a ready customer for the farmer and quality raw material for the industry.

It has over 27 food processing units spread over 50 acre of land in Assam. The food park is expected to generate employment for over three thousand people.
