General Officer Commanding (GOC) of 15 Corps, Lieutenant General Subrata Saha, on Wednesday said that the death of three jawans during the recent infiltration bid by militants along the Line of Control only strengthens their resolve to defeat all inimical elements to the nation's security.

Lt Gen Saha was reacting to the infiltration bid in the Tangdhar sector of Kashmir earlier this week.

"The supreme sacrifice of these three brave soldiers only strengthens our resolve further to defeat all inimical elements to the security of our nation and Kashmir. This encounter took place around 150 metres of the Line of Control in dense forested area. Our intention is to be sure that the threat of infiltration is eliminated as far forward as possible so that these terrorists are not allowed to come and threaten our life here," Saha told ANI.

"It was definitely a case of infiltration. Attempts in this part of the year are always there," he added.

Earlier this week, the three jawans and a militant were killed on the LoC, with reports stating that a group of four to seven infiltrators had sneaked into the Indian side near the Darshan Post opposite Pakistan's Chhajula Post.
