England swashbuckling opener Alex Hales is all set to join the national side after sufficiently recovering from a hand fracture he sustained during the ODI series in India last month.

The 28-year-old got his right hand injured while diving to attempt a catch off former Indian skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni during England's 15-run defeat against India in the second ODI of the three-match series , which the home side eventually went on to clinch by 2-1.

Hales, who missed out on selection for the original squad, was called up after a scan on the hand confirmed that he is sufficiently fit to tour the Caribbean, Sport24 reported.

The opener, who has 11 Tests and 40 One Day Internationals under his belt, will rejoin his international team-mates three days prior to the opening Test of the three-match ODI series against West Indies beginning Friday at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium.

Taking to his Twitter account to confirm his availability, Hales wrote, "Antigua tomorrow. Can't wait to get back amongst it!"

However, the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) said that the opener would still have to undergo rehabilitation process until the medical team deem him fit to rejoin the national squad officially.

"Alex Hales arrives tomorrow evening local time. He will continue his rehab with us until the medical and coaching teams deem he is fit enough to join the squad officially," the ECB insisted.
