Singer-songwriter FKA twigs got candid about how she had to go through a whole process of "unmeshing" from the exes, including former fiance and 'Twilight' actor Robert Pattinson, after breakups.
The 31-year-old also revealed that she had to dedicate her time in relearning who she was outside of the romantic relationships.
"Like, when you're with somebody, your lives become very entwined, with like, your friends and family, your routine. And then the unmeshing is like you have to really find out -- well I had to really find out who I was," Us Weekly quoted the singer as saying during an interview with Zane Lowe on Apple Music's Beats 1 recently.
"But I've always known who I am, but it's just kind of discovering who I was in adult crisis," she continued.
And much to her joy, the singer disclosed that after some quality time alone, she has "never known" herself better!
Pattinson had proposed to her in April 2015 after six months of dating. However, the couple decided to call it quits in 2017.
She was most recently linked to Shia LaBeouf.
Opening about her latest album 'Magdalene', twigs shared that it explores a lot of her romantic life and how she decided to put herself and her needs first.
"When I realised that so many other women had been through what I had been through, as a woman, I was taught that your Prince Charming would choose you, and when he did, you were grateful," she said.
She continued, "For me, Magdalene is unraveling that, and finding my voice without society's whispers.
