Former England all-rounder Andrew Flintoff opened about his eating disorder on Friday's episode of Piers Morgan's Life Stories and spoke about how he make himself sick before going back onto the pitch.

Flintoff revealed how he would go to the toilet and make himself sick if he thought he'd eaten too much during team lunches, before making his way back out on to the pitch.

Flintoff said that he cannot remember the first time, but added that he did it when he had eaten something, which he thought he would put weight on with, or if he had too much to drink, The Daily Star reported.

The former all-rounder continued that then it slowly crept in more and more and he added that he remembers when they had this chat, the England team were sat down and they got a drugs advisor coming in to tell them about drugs in sport.

He said that there was a woman who was a dietician and she started saying about diet and how she dealt with models, actors and athletes who have had eating disorders, adding that he thought he could have a chat with her afterwards and then she said that she cannot imagine there is any of that in there.

Flintoff said that he was on tour in India and was doing it a lot, adding that he was doing it at lunchtime. He said that he would come off the pitch have something to eat and then would go and bowl again.

Speaking of why he kept his battle a secret, Flintoff said that he thought he couldn't really tell anyone because of the world he was in, professional sport one does not want to give anything away.

Flintoff said that one almost wants to come across as being bullet proof, and that was part of his make-up.
