Cricket legends have predicted that Australian cricketer Phillip Hughes will live up to the majesty of his stunning Test arrival.

Australia's batting blueprint remains unclear but Hughes will be part of the long-term landscape as Test opener Chris Rogers is very much in the twilight of his career, Shane Watson continues to tease at No. 3 while George Bailey will have to perform or perish as a veteran debutant at No.6.

According to News.com.au, South African legend Barry Richards vividly remembers Hughes' 115 and 160 against the Proteas at Kingsmead four years ago, saying that as he played well there so it is a case of knowing he can do it as he has done it before, if he gets the opportunity.

Meanwhile Justin Langer, who supports a 'pick and stick' philosophy, said that Hughes' 22 first-class tons is a 'mind-blowing' feat and hinted that it may back his future in the Test arena.

Hughes, with 22 first-class centuries and a maiden first-class double century in his last match against Western Australia leads the queue for an Ashes call-up as Michael Clarke's unit is powered by fast men but short on quality strokeplayers, the report added.
