Former Janata Dal United JD (U) leader N.K Singh on Saturday joined the Bharatiya Janata Party, and said that only the latter was capable of bringing a strong and stable government.

"The country needs a strong and stable government who people can trust and the BJP is one such party which is capable of doing that," said Singh.

"The financial condition of the country is very weak and only the BJP can help to keep price rise in check. This party has a credible leadership," he said.

On Friday, Singh had announced that he was leaving JD (U) after being denied a re-nominated ticket to the Rajya Sabha. He had also indicated that he was in close touch with the BJP.
