Chuck Mosley, the former frontman of alt-metal band 'Faith No More,' has died at the age of 57.
In a statement, his family said that Mosley passed away on Thursday and his death was caused by 'the disease of addiction'.
"After a long period of sobriety, Charles Henry Mosley III lost his life, on 9 November 2017, due to the disease of addiction," the statement read, as reported by The Independent.
"We're sharing the manner in which he passed, in the hopes that it might serve as a warning or wake up call or beacon to anyone else struggling to fight for sobriety," it added.
He is survived by long-term partner Pip Logan, two daughters, Erica and Sophie and his grandson Wolfgang Logan Mosley.
The family will be accepting donations for funeral expenses.
'Faith No More' were formed in San Francisco in 1979, with Mosley joining the band as frontman in 1983.
Later he was replaced in the band by Mike Patton, who sung lead vocals on one of their most famous songs, Epic - which reached number 25 in the UK charts in 1989.
After his years in 'Faith No More,' Mosley continued to work in music singing for the hardcore band Bad Brains, and playing in another funk metal outfit, Cement.
