Former militants of the Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) have reportedly pledged their allegiance to the Islamic State (IS) in a new video released online.
The video was released on Saturday and showed TTP spokesman Shahidullah Shahid along with other militants who identified themselves as from Afghanistan and Pakistan, reported the Dawn.
Shahid had already pledged his loyalty to the terror group in an audio message in October.
The SITE Intelligence Group, a US-based terrorism monitor, said that the video was posted by the IS on Twitter and jihadi forums.
At the end of the video, the militants killed a man who they said was a Pakistani soldier.
The video has raised concerns about whether the terror outfit has made inroads into Pakistan and Afghanistan, a region already awash with several militant groups.
Taliban militants in Afghanistan and Pakistan owe their allegiance to Mullah Omar, a cleric who has headed the Taliban since the 1990s and hasn't been heard from for years.
