Putting an end to selfies in the classrooms, French lawmakers have passed a law that prohibits the use of smartphones in schools.

Once into effect, students will be required to either keep their phones switched off during school hours or leave them at home, Cnet reported.

The law will go into effect this September and apply to students as old as 15.
