Free of cost Artificial Limb distribution camp on 'World Disability Day'

On the World Disability Day, Narayan Seva Sansthan- a charitable organization that runs one of the largest charitable hospitals in the country for Specially-abled people, in particular polio and by birth disabled, is organising an Free of cost Artificial Limb Donation Camp.

The press conference was held on December 1, at Press Club of India in the national capital, to generate awareness about the camp and the aids that are being provided.

The camp is to be held on December 3, in which 101 aid including 51 artificial limbs and tri-cycles, wheel chairs & crutches and much more will be distributed.

The conference was graced by Dr Manas Ranjan Sahoo, Head of Department-Orthotic and Prosthetic, Narayan Seva Sansthan, Dallaram Patel, Planning and Event Head, Narayan Seva Sansthan and Ompal Silan, Coordinator-Delhi Camp, Narayan Seva Sansthan.

A media-sensitisation was undertaken on the plights of the specially-abled and how can one contribute towards the noble cause.

According to Kailash 'Manav', Founder and Chairman, Narayan Seva Sansthan, "We are pleased to announce our Free of Cost Artificial Limb Distribution Camp, to observe World Disability Day. Disability is a handicap that has been plaguing the nation, with close to 21 million people being disabled, in India alone. This press conference has been held, to create awareness amongst people, alongside a brief about what Narayan Seva Sansthan do. It is our long-standing motto to make a difference and contribute to eradicate disability for good."

Prashant Agarwal, President, Narayan SevaSansthan, had said, "The aim of the sansthan in addition to the treatment (Corrective Surgeries) is to provide education and vocational training to the specially-abled and poor people with proper facilities to develop their potential to the fullest so that they can be self-reliant and independent. The Artificial Limb Distribution camp is another endeavour from our side to help these individuals in their path to a fully-functioning member of the society. India is in great need for sensitization, when it comes to disability and we must come together to combat the stigma surrounding disabilities.
