'The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air' star James Avery has died following complications from open-heart surgery in Glendale, California. He was 67.
Avery played the Honorable Philip Banks, Will Smith's uncle on the popular TV series, Fox News reported.
Alfonso Ribeiro, who played Avery's son on the show, posted on Facebook that the world has lost a truly special man and he was very saddened to say that Avery had passed away.
He added that even though he played his father on TV, he was a wonderful father figure to him in real life as well and will be deeply missed.
