American golf ace Jim Furyk has warned England's Ian Poulter and company to stop their fist pumping in the Ryder Cup at Gleneagles this week.

Furyk claimed that the Europeans like nothing more than rubbing their opponents' noses in the dirt. He said that some players have violated the spirit of the Ryder Cup.

Furyk said that they used to have a beer together at the end of these matches, shake hands and say 'congrats, you played well', but added that now the winning side wants to party and make it look as though they are rubbing it in the other side's face, The Mirror reported.

The American said that Poulter has a way of exciting his team, adding that it is his personality. And, he said that he guesses it is definitely good for the European team.

But, Furyk said that he is still sold on the way one can do it in a way that people respect. He added that it should be fiercely competitive but played in the right fashion, in a friendly fashion as it was intended.
