England football legend Paul Gascoigne got a tattoo in tribute to his ex-wife Sheryl, days before he was arrested for allegedly assaulting her in a drunken rage.
His friend revealed that Gazza, 46, spent 100 pounds to get her name inked on his right forearm to show he still loved her.
According to the Sun, he went to see Sheryl, 47, to show her the tattoo on the day when he was attacked.
He got the tattoo inked at Extreme Needle in Leicester Square, central London, where a source said that the staff was gobsmacked when Gazza came in asking for a tattoo.
He did not smell of drink, but it could be another sign he is not in the right state of mind.
Gazza told the tattooists he still loved Sheryl.
