Troubled England football legend Paul Gascoigne has tried to disguise himself, ending up looking like a member of bearded rock band ZZ Top and posted the photo on celebrity social networking site WhoSay.

According to the Daily Star, the result was so bizarre, that he was bound to have drawn stares.

A pal of the former footy ace said that if this were his idea of going undercover, he would hate to see what he does when he wants to be noticed, adding that it was the worst disguise in history.

He added that the former player was going to attract more attention hitting the street like that than going out as Gazza, adding that he was lucky to not have been arrested.

It is the latest bizarre behaviour of the ex-Spurs, Newcastle and Lazio star as he battles booze addiction, depression and obsessive-compulsive disorder, the report said.

It was recently revealed that he had become hooked on the harmonica, and he has also had fads for sweets, Botox treatment, betting and playing the guitar.
