Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard's two penalties backed by striker Luis Suarez's goal helped the club to a crushing 3-0 victory over bitter rivals Manchester United.
This is reportedly Liverpool's second victory at Old Trafford in nearly 10 years.
According to Sport24, Liverpool's win has helped the club climb to the second position in the Premier League title race, 4 points behind leaders Chelsea.
Gerrard could reportedly have completed a rare hat-trick of penalties but was robbed of the opportunity after Manchester United's Nemanja Vidic was red-carded for tripping Daniel Sturridge shortly before Suarez scored the third goal.
The defeat has left United in seventh place 12 points behind fourth-placed Manchester City and 18 points behind leaders Chelsea in the Premier League title race, the report added.
