Ghana defeated hosts Equatorial Guinea 3-0 to reach the final of African Cup of Nations amid chaotic scenes in Malabo on Thursday night.

Striker Jordan Ayew put Ghana ahead in the 42nd minute through a penalty before midfielder Mubarak Wakaso doubled the lead just before the end of the first half.

Subsequently, Andre Ayew netted a left footed shot to the bottom right corner to give his team an unassailable 3-0 advantage in the 75th minute, the BBC reported.

However, match had to be stopped as unruly home supporters continued to hurl bottles at the Ghanaian players, littering the running track around the pitch.

Eventually, Riot police battled past a frenzied crowd to restore order before the match restarted to bring the game to an end three minutes later.

Ghana will next face Ivory Coast in the final on Sunday in Bata.
