Manchester United's assistant manager Ryan Giggs has warned the club's players that they must rediscover their pride and hunger after last season's poor show.
Giggs admitted that United's squad sometimes played as if they were scared and that too many of the players failed the club.
United, who were the reigning Premier League champions, slumped to a seventh place under Sir Alex Ferguson's hand-picked successor David Moyes, who was sacked after just 10 months in charge, The Mirror reported.
The winger turned manager said that it was up to the players to show they deserve to wear the famous shirt, and added that the players have got to take a bit of pride in how they perform, train and play.
Giggs said that there is no doubt that few players lived up to the standards of what they're capable of doing last season. He added that it doesn't change overnight, but last season's league position showed that United did not perform individually or as a team.
However, Giggs said that he is confident that the players would show their older form again, adding that they have shown it so far in training.
