Former Ryder Cup captain Bernard Gallacher is in a critical condition and is being treated in Aberdeen Royal Infirmary, after a suspected heart attack.
According to the BBC, Gallacher's nephew Stephen, expressed that his family was in disarray and it was an anxious moment.
Gallacher, who lives in Berkshire, is the father of three children, the most famous of whom is television presenter Kirsty, the report said.
Gallacher turned professional in 1967 and was named the Sir Henry Cotton rookie of the year the following season, the report added.
In 1969, he became the youngest winner of the prestigious PGA Championship at 20 years and 97 days and that record stood until earlier this year, when Italian Matteo Manassero won at Wentworth aged 20 years and 37 days, the report further said.
