Saying 'hello' online in Sindhi has now got easier as the Google Translate will now offer Sindhi in its language options. Sindhi speakers can type or handwrite a phrase on their phone or computer and it will be instantly translated into English, or vice versa.
"With over 26 million Sindhi speaking citizens around the world, introducing Sindhi to Google Translate will help the new generation of Sindhis enrich their knowledge about their community," said Senior Program Manager, Google Translate, Sveta Kelman.
"It will also be helpful for tourists visiting India making it easier for English and Sindhi speakers to communicate with each other," said Sveta Kelman, Senior Program Manager, Google Translate," added Sveta Kelman.
Google has introduced 12 other new languages apart from Sindhi, which includes Amharic, Corsican, Frisian, Kyrgyz, Hawaiian, Kurdish (Kurmanji), Luxembourgish, Samoan, Scots Gaelic, Shona, Pashto and Xhosa.
According to the company release, this will help bring a combined 120 million new people to the billions who can already communicate with Translate all over the world.
The introduction of 13 new languages brings the total number of languages Google Translate supports to just over 100.
