Minister of State for Home Haribhai Parathibhai Chaudhary has said in a written reply in the Lok Sabha that the location of wanted mafia don Dawood Ibrahim is presently unknown, and added that once it is known, the government will initiate the extradition process.
He also informed the Lok Sabha that a Red Corner notice had been issued against Dawood in 1993 in connection with his role in the 13 serial blasts in Bombay (now Mumbai) on March 12, 1993.
The coordinated attacks are regarded as the most destructive in Indian history. The single-day attacks resulted in over 350 fatalities and 1200 injuries.
Dawood is said to have coordinated the blasts with precision through his subordinates.
