Delhi Transport Minister Gopal Rai on Wednesday said the NDA Government must respect the nation's labour law.
"I think instead of hurrying, the government should concentrate on protecting their laws and benefits," Rai told ANI.
"The strike has been called due to the anti-labor strategies of the central government. It had a partial effect on Delhi," he added.
Rai said, "The government must not amend the labour laws that have been formed after social movements to protect the interests of laborers. These demands were raised in the meeting in which all the trade unions, all state labor ministers, the prime minister and the labor minister were present."
The day long nation-wide strike has impacted essential services like banking and transport were impacted with 10 central trade unions going ahead with the strike.
